About > HeritACT method
Together with the HeritACT Toolkit, the project develops a set of proposed activities aimed to ideate novel ways of addressing local challenges related to sustainability, wellbeing, and democratic and inclusive participation.
The Solutions
Green Tensegrity Installations
Development of Self-sustaining green walls and public-space shading systems by co-creating highly innovative public space installations to enhance sustainability and enable education with nature-based solutions.
Augmented Reality-enriched Human-Place Interaction
HeritACT will concentrate on people with specific sensory dysfunctions and belonging to different age and interest groups to facilitate context-rich experiences.
Digitally fabricated vegetable garden
This is a green modular system fabricated with advancing manufacturing techniques that can allow to fabricate modules that act as containers for the cultivation of plants or to host other living systems.
Small scale Pavilion structure
This structure is expected to function as a landmark in its immediate area, assuming many different roles: it can function as an information hub, an attractor of cultural events or small exhibits.
Virtual
exhibition-archive
A concept model of a modular space that is designed to function as a basic exhibition space in the physical environment, and as an archive of artefacts in the virtual. The users will need to wear the VR headset and hold the controllers to experience a basic exhibition space in the physical environment.
Temporary structure from recycled material
Temporary structures are going to be fabricated using organic waste following a full life-cycle design such as the “Cradle-to-cradle” approach.
Urban mobile furniture
Modular solution to enable multiple functions such as markets, sports facilities, theatre… It can be customised by the heritage space and users according to their desires.
Projection Mapping on a Kinetic Surface
The projection theme on the movable tiles of the interactive surface will be inspired by the cultural and historical heritage and the visions of the community.
Re-activation of open spaces through NBS
Nature-based solutions (NBS) are technical solutions which deploy natural processes as well as vegetation and sustainable materials to address complex environmental challenges. In HeritACT they have twofold relevance in terms of active contribution to the climate adaptation goals of EGD and to social inclusion objectives of the NEB.
